Have you ever seen a tree so big, a world could fit under it easily? This is a painting of one of those trees. The shade under this magnolia is so dense, not even a strip of grass breaks the ground. Getting closer to the tree makes you feel the coolness of the branches. While standing right beneath, it makes you feel like being under a giant umbrella which is shielding you from the scorching summer sun.
This tree was inspired by majestic magnolia trees in Sydney, Australia. It is painted in gouache on 9 by 6 inch Fabriano 1264 watercolor paper with 1/3 inch white border.
